Alhaji “Black Nature” Kamara

Black Nature is an inspiring musician, producer and activist. We met while in production on the film Sierra Leone’s Refugee all Stars, a documentary film which chronicles the amazing story of a band he was a member of. He then settled in San Francisco and together we planned the WeOwnTV program which launched in 2010.

Originally from Sierra Leone, Black Nature is now living in Santa Fe, New Mexico with his wife Elizabeth and son Ruba. He is the leader of the Black Nature band and a member of the band Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars band. Inspiring interviews with Black Nature have been featured on NPR, CBC, PBS, CNN and The Oprah Winfrey Show and in major publications worldwide.
